Weeknote #35
Our ceiling is all done! Except for tha painting that I need to do, and putting up shelves, and getting everything back into the room. So… mostly done! But we have a ceiling, it has the stupid popcorn texture, and all the lights and fan work now!
I did go to IKEA this week and purchased some shelves to go on either side of the fireplace. A cheaper and easier way to make the built-ins that I would like. I also got a few other things, such as a dresser for the kiddo, and some under-the-bed storage trays that roll out. So all important things. It was a lot of money, but well worth it. I’m just glad IKEA is a 2 hour drive away. Far enough away that I don’t want to do it every week, but close enough that it’s still doable in a day, but you have to plan for it. Sadly they didn’t have all; the actual shelves that I needed, so I got the verticals, shorter shelves, and the other things. We will have to go back for more of the shelves, which is unfortunate, but fine. Everything is fine.
This week we are also cleaning the pool area! The members don’t love it, but it felt great to get things all cleaned. We power-washed, scrubbed, scraped, sprayed, and wiped everything down. I wish I had before and after photos. Sadly I thought of that after we had power-washed all of the tiles. Oh well, maybe next year? Everybody did a great job and helped out a ton.
